ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
The One Woman Project would like to acknowledge the owners of the land upon which our team members live and work. This land includes Meanjin (Yuggera and Turrbal people), Naarm (Wurundjeri people), Bundjalung (Yugambeh people), and Ngunnawal country.
All of our writers and contributors acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded, and that this ongoing colonisation has resulted in inter-generational trauma, violence, and erasure. We pay our respects to all Elders, past, present and emerging, and in particular, acknowledge the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and non-binary folk, who have constantly led, and continue to lead, the feminist fight for justice.
To find out more about the land upon which you reside, please visit https://aiatsis.gov.au/explore/map-indigenous-australia, or download the app here.
The OWP team values inclusivity, intersectionality and diversity, especially through the language we use. We actively aim to represent and include the voices of those who have been marginalised within non-intersectional, cis-gendered, white, heterosexual 'women's movements' in the past. This includes Black/Blak, Indigenous and Women of Colour, members of the neurodivergent or disabled communities, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, non-binary people, and all other intersectionalities whom experience violence under the white, colonial, and patriarchal society we live in.
As the feminist movement continues to progress, so too does our learning and individual education. If you have suggestions on how OWP can further improve the language we use, please email us at blog@onewomanproject.org.
